Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the title of Outstanding Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She has been widely recognized for being the pioneer of research into child witnesses and eyewitness memories in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman is a prolific author who has received numerous prizes and grants. She has worked with numerous authorities and organizations across the globe on policy and research related to children who are victims of the justice system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of several professional associations, which include that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been President of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
